5 Stars Exceeds Expectations
I just got my TV, it was really easy to set up and compared to other LCDs I think it’s definitely a great value. Loved the sound, the color is amazing, and it looks great! I am very happy about this purchase. Would definitely recommend it.

4 Stars Looks and sounds good
I got myself this 37in 1080p 120 Hz LG flat screen for Christmas with an LG bluray player. 1 month in they are both working, looking and sounding great. We watched Disney’s Earth as one of the first bluray movies and it looked spectacular. It took me about 30 min to hook both up and be watching TV/movies. I am very satisfied so far. I have noticed some of the “graininess” with rapid motion watching DVD’s that I had read about before. It doesn’t happen often and I don’t think my wife even notices but I catch it occasinally. Now I just need to get HD channels from my cable supplier.

3 Stars Only 37-inch 1080 120Hz at this price!
I bought this for the bedroom. It’s mounted high on the wall.

Pluses:

1. Nicely packaged for UPS delivery, with corner savers. Arrived quickly and without damage.

2. Menus are shallow, don’t require as much drilling as Panasonic or Samsung

3. Good sound from the built-in speakers

4. Matte screen finish

5. The only 37″ 1080p 120Hz set I could find anywhere near this price

6. Switching inputs is relatively quick and easy, Tuner to HDMI

7. The automatic screen dimming is nice. Doesn’t overload your senses if you want to watch in the dark.

Minuses:

1. No “CC” button on remote. I shouldn’t have to drill down to turn it on and off.

2. OTA guide data shows program names only. Does not show program descriptions like my Samsung.

3. Manual is online or on CD. You can print it yourself, thank you very much.

4. No headphone out or analog audio line out! Must use optical output. Since this is a bedroom TV, I bought the Sony MDR-DS3000 IR headphones ($145) which have an optical input. Since two or three others mentioned that in their reviews, I don’t think LG considered the downside of economizing there. Namely, instead of plugging in any old pair of headphones, you have to spend $65 for a D to A converter, and that does not include getting to phone level. Somebody else mentioned this was not important, since you can just hook it up to a receiver. I disagree; who is buying a 37″ TV to connect to a fancy sound system?

5. I don’t like the way it arranges the cable channels for surfing. For example all of the analog channels end in “-0″ and are in order, then at the top of that list you get the Clear QAM channels. My Samsung intermixes them so you see analog 4, then 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 in that order.

6. The remote has NO lighting. This would have been really nice for a bedroom TV, Mr. Lucky Goldstar!

7. No universal remote functions. It would be nice to be able to just program in the basics for the DVD player for when I am too lazy to find that remote.

5 Stars Excellent TV
For a 37″ tv this tv feels huge. Admittedly it is our first high-def tv but we very much like it.

I like the easy to use energy saving settings. It essentially just turns down the brightness of the picture but it has come in handy when light-sensitivity has been an issue. The settings are accessible right from the remote and the change is immediately reflected in the picture.

The sound is good. Television we watch at about 10 which is less than a quarter of the volume the tv is capable of.

The tv also comes with different aspect ratio setting so you can adjust the picture for older things not filmed in the tv’s aspect ratio without it looking distorted. Changing the settings is easy once you figure out how to do it for the first time.

Overall, we are quite pleased with the tv.

5 Stars Great TV
The TV was packaged in the normal packaging so nothing special there. I didn’t configure the picture quality for a while as I did not read the manual. Eventually I stumbled across how to configure it and it has a very easy walk thru process. Now that it is properly configured, everything is much more enjoyable. Great TV. Good sound, great picture. In all a solid product.
