User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Best Picture by far
I purchased this TV about a week ago and have really gotten to love the picture. If you do buy this you really need a Blue Ray Player. The Blue Ray movies are fantastic.

Overall this was very easy to set up and the picture looks great right out of the box with no adjustments. This is a big tv at 58″ and the HDMI hook ups really make things life like. I hooked it up to a Onkyo receiver with 7.1 surround sound for the ultimate theater experience. I really didn’t like the sound coming from the built in speakers for a set this big.

My son hooked up Xbox360, Wii and Playstation 3 to the set and the motion in the games is great along with unbelievable graphics.

This set has pretty much run 24-7 since we got it without a flaw. The only thing that I really didn’t care about was the internet connectivity. You really don’t get to do much except look at weather, stock and a few other widgets. I do recommend a clean power source with this TV like one made by Monster to keep from getting power spikes.

I think there is no other choice for price and picture. I looked at the Pioneer Elite and felt this had a much better picture along with being much thinner at 1.2″ but it still weighs 100lb’s and that’s pretty heavy to move.

This is one big, bright and sharp picture. I am very happy with my purchase.

4 Stars Samsung Pros and Cons on this set
This set is fantastic once you get it up and running. The picture is so life like it is unreal and that is to a typical T.V. Antenna; however, here is what some of the problems are.

First try going to Samsung Webb Page to register this produce, GOOD LUCK.

It tries to tell me that the serial number is not a good one and that this product isn’t on the market until May 2010, Yea right, I then trying to hook it up to the internet. What a pain. My home network recognized it being hooked up but at first it however, the set told me it wasn’t there, said there was no connection. Then finally it did recognize it.

I try to activate the divx feature on it and then it tells me that the Divx code that is preset in this plasma set is not a valid code, I try contacting Samsung and finally got a support e-mail, I even attached pictures to the e-mail of the set serial number and model number, That sure was a waste of time, they e-mail me back and said that was Webb page design problem and for me to contact them myself. (I really don’t know how to do that, without an e-mail address or phone number). After all it is their cooperation and they should have done whatever it takes to correct the problem.

I then try to use Microsoft multi-media is looking for an 8 digit code and this has a 10 digit code. Finally had a neighbor that is an I.T. Geek check it out after about 1 hour the network and the TV now finally recognized each other so that I now can access my home computer through the set as to watch movies that are on file on my computer.

Now, this is for the final complaint part. You should be able to upgrade the T.V. software from the set itself my means of the internet, I try to access it and now there is no such luck with that since there is an error (400) pops up. My guess it is looking for the model and serial number as it is interfacing with the Samsung server and since it not a registered it will not allow it to happen.

Samsung needs to make sure that the TV and development engineers, along with technical support and Webb page design need to make sure that customers like me are happy when they make it easy and simple, and easy to contact their customer support without jumping through hoops, and not have to go to the neighbors.

So I still not able to access Divx., or have the product proper registered, and be able to download the up graded software.

5 Stars WOW AMAZING TV
I purchased this TV about 3 weeks ago from Amazon it arrived 1 day sooner than promised. The delivery people were very nice and put the tv in place and fired it up to make sure it all worked.

Now I had the Samsung 56″ DLP with LED technology for about 2 1/2 years and that tv was very nice but we needed a little more room so we went with the flat panal.

The picture clarity of this tv surpasses other tv’s in the same class. I compared it to the Pioneer Kudo series and it puts the Pioneer to shame. Granted I had to shop local stores to compare them before buying from Amazon but the time it took to reasearch this item was worth it in the end.

The Hi Def is outstanding in all aspects I use Directv for my tv broadcasts and their Hi Def feed. I also have a Playstation 3 which is used only for movies and that too was very impressive. This model has a network connection that was easy to setup. I plugged in a network wire from my router to the tv and I was on line. This gives the abilty to have news, weather, stock qoutes, and even YouTube can be accesed directly through the tv. I also found the tv has built in entertainment moduals like recipes, stories and music for small children and exercise workout information.

I also like the fact that the remote lights up makes it very easy to see when the lights are dim in the room. As for contrast I do not think you could ask for better. The blacks are black and not grainy the colors are very true to life right out of the box. Now you may want to tweak the color and tint to your likeing but this is true with al tv’s.

The 1080P is a true 1080P unlike some tvs that use a 3:2 pull down, what this means is that it can do 24 FPS and also 60 FPS. Some 1080P signals are only in 24 FPS like Directv on demand 1080P movies and some tv’s can not display a broadcast in 24 FPS and Directv 1080P can not be displayerd on a tv that uses 3:2 pull odwn technology.

My wife even commented on how much nicer this picture is compared to others we saw in the stores while shopping this out.

If you like a nice picture with lots of features you will not go worng with this new Samsung tv and it is only 1.2″ thick!!!!!!

And lastly when I registered the tv on line with Samsung they gave me 3 additional months of warranty.

5 Stars WOW
As good if not better than Pioneer Elite. Just a stunning image. Incredibly thin. Best electronics purchase I have ever made.
